Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for general accounting and finance functions including financial reporting and analysis, regulatory reporting and preparation of other reports, schedules and analysis as needed, general ledger entries. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and requires a high level of professional capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to multi-task by understanding different areas of the accounting department
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for Management, Board of Directors and Government agencies
• Review / analyze general ledger balances / trends
• Review bond investment options, recommend purchases, analyze portfolio
• Forecasting and budgeting
• Perform statistical analysis
• Process monthly reconciliations (Fixed Asset / Accounts Payable / Bond Investment Portfolio etc.)
• Perform financial reviews of vendors and brokers
• Assist with the external audits by serving as liaison to auditors and regulators and preparing documents for review

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience in business setting, financial services preferred
• Bachelors Degree or work background that can be utilized in key accountabilities. Accounting, Statistics, Math, Finance, Programming and Systems, Economics, Data Analytics, and Modeling are relevant fields
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, IBM Cognos.
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to complete month end, and general ledger duties.
