Job Description
Position: Business Development Officer
Under general direction of a senior executive manager, responsible for marketing SBA
504 loans (90% financing for owner‐user commercial/industrial properties) and other
loan programs to potential borrowers, third party lender partners (banks), commercial
real estate brokers and other referral sources.
Individual obtains initial loan information, screens for 504 program eligibility, performs
initial credit analysis to determine borrower/project feasibility, develops financing
structure in collaboration with credit administrator/underwriter, communicates
proposed financing structure to applicant and participating lender, obtains required
information from applicant and partner bank, maintains communication with applicant
and lender throughout the approval process, and obtains borrowers signature on
Authorization for Debenture Guaranty. Individual develops and manages pipeline of
deals with the objective of meeting or exceeding production goals.
Qualifications:
At least three years of commercial banking experience.
Must possess skills in analyzing business‐related financial statements and
personal financial statements for the purpose of determining loan repayment
ability. Experience with SBA lending preferred.
Must have strong interpersonal and marketing skills, demonstrate competence
and confidence.
Candidate demonstrates the ability to succeed in a highly competitive market
environment, achieving production goals, while at the same time maintaining a
high standard of ethics.
Minimum education requirement of Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or
related area. Must have working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the
ability to quickly master CRM (customer relationship management). Microsoft
Dynamics CRM or Salesforce software experiences a plus.

the highest potential for production volume and prioritize accordingly (without
alienating lower producing relationships).
Not put off by rejection or by existing CDC competitor relationships – likes the
challenge and opportunity.

Is able to work remotely and is also willing to travel by auto several times a week
to meet with clients and attend marketing events even outside of normal work
