Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field required. Prefer minimum of 12 credit hours in Accounting.
• Prefer completion of a bank sponsored credit training program. CRE, C&I, and/or Private Bank experience.
• Credit Analyst/Senior Credit Analyst: One to five years of experience as a commercial credit underwriting/analysis. The Senior Credit Analyst position will reflect a candidate with more experience, and specifically skilled at more complex transaction.
• Underwriter: Three to eight years of experience with an ability to act independently and provide guidance to lenders.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Responsible, self-starter and resourceful.
• Must be a team player.
Internal Description:
Primary responsibility of the credit staff is to underwrite and document credit requests to assure the loan terms are appropriately detailed, the capacity to repay through the primary and secondary repayments sources is clearly identified in the context of the risks in their business and industry, and to determine the risk grade based on these factors. This will require a strong knowledge in but not be limited to:
- Commercial loans of different types, industries and degrees of complexity
- Financial Statement Spreading
- Cash Flow Analysis
- Stress Testing and Sensitivity Analysis
- Collateral Analysis
- Guarantor Analysis
- Global Analysis with understanding of Business and Personal Tax Returns
- Economic & Industry Analysis
- Regulatory requirements and impact of Bank policy
The candidate will be expected to:
- Engage analytical skills to gather and interpret data to assess risks and impact on repayment capacity, especially for complex situations and problems
- Understand structural requirements and appropriate loan terms
- Have integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information
- Engage in special projects as a growing Bank.
A Senior Credit Analyst will have greater experience and ability to address more complex items, whereas an Underwriter will have an ability to more independently address the items above, plus a deep knowledge of appropriate loan terms, structures, documentation, as well as managing through the cycle.
