Job Title: Commercial Lending Officer

Responsible for the origination of Multi-Unit Commercial Real Estate loans including the development of a network of contacts that will refer loans appropriate for the Bank’s portfolio of Commercial Real Estate loans. Maintain a relationship after origination with Commercial Real Estate borrower/guarantor in order to assess any new opportunities or identify risks associate with property or financial status of the borrower/guarantor. Responsible for the completion of the formal annual Loan Review of the Bank’s high aggregate borrower as well as reporting the results to the Senior Loan Committee.
• Make sales calls on realtors and network with individuals capable of referring multi-unit commercial lending real estate leads to the Bank.
• Assist in the modification process for maturing loans including communication with the customer and presentation of the loan terms for final approval or denial by the Senior Loan Committee.
• Respond to loan inquiries in a timely fashion and inform customers of available lending programs, parameters and process requirements.
• Complete all steps to the commercial process from initial term sheet request through loan approval by Senior Loan Committee and accurately complete financial analysis including pro-forma and credit memos.
• Keep management apprised of market trends and concerns in the market place and provide recommendations of responses to these trends.
• Assist in the development and expansion of a more efficient commercial loan process.
• Attend Lending meetings and provide Senior Loan committee updates and files to be reviewed.
• Adhere to all Liberty Bank policies, procedures and customer service standards as they apply to all aspects, duties and responsibilities of this position.
• Adhere to, understand and comply with the Bank’s Standards of Conduct (Code of Ethics) policy.
• Perform administrative and all other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, finance or related field. MS/MBA desired.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in multi-family, commercial real estate lending
• Advanced understanding of loan documentation criteria and business objectives for the lending department.
• Familiarity with competitive intelligence methods and practices.
• Experience with the use of secondary market research data/audits, in all of the above areas plus working knowledge of dealing with outside strategy consultants.
• Thorough understanding of underwriting and processing requirements.
