GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The SBA & USDA Loan Officer is responsible for working with customers and potential customers to identify SBA/USDA loans throughout the bank’s footprint and/or the assigned Regions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support and exemplify the values and behaviors of Centennial Banks vision, mission, and code of ethics. This duty is performed daily, about 100% of the time.
2. Perform all functions in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the regulations, credit policies, policies & procedures, and the SBA SOP at Centennial Bank. This duty is performed daily, about 100% of the time.
3. Possess knowledge of the SBA 7A loan programs, products, and services (and general knowledge of USDA RD One). This duty is performed daily, about 75% of the time.
4. Ensure the confidentiality, security of sensitive information, and data of all customers, Centennial Bank, and potential customers, and its employees. This duty is performed daily, about 100% of the time.
5. Originate sufficient volume of SBA Loans (7A and 504). This duty is performed as needed, about 100% of the time.
6. Discuss and submit loan requests with the SBA department manager to determine viability of loan request. This duty is performed as needed, about 75% of the time.
7. Support SBA Credit Analyst/Underwriter & Closing Specialist or in collection of documents to complete the application & closing process. This duty is performed as needed, about 75% of the time.
8. Determine which documentation is required in accordance with loan size and collateral. This duty is performed as needed, about 75% of the time.
9. Manage internal shared folder and ensure quality control is performed for transactions handled by assigned SBA team member. This duty is performed as needed, about 25% of the time.
10. Maintain communication and relationship throughout the SBA process and annual site inspections. This duty is performed daily, about 75% of the time.

14. Contact prospective borrowers when instructed by the SBA/USDA Dept staff (if not assigned to a Reg LO). This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
15. Maintain communication with applicants throughout process. This duty is performed about 80% of the time.
16. Track and log COI/referral sources and loan referral fee agreements. This duty is performed about 25% of the time.
17. Support customers and employees with inquiries, information requests, and resolution of complaints. This duty is performed about 20% of the time.
18. Respond accurately to borrower questions regarding the necessity of required documentation. This duty is performed about 20% of the time.
19. Prescreen all SBA/USDA loans presented for review and perform site inspections.
20. Attend all SBA/USDA Dept training (including NAGGL/7a & NADCO/504). This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
21. Prepare memos/write up of all SBA/USDA loans presented for review. This duty is performed about 50% of the time.
22. Interview applicants and request specific information for SBA loan application, requests credit reports, establishes eligibility, and other information pertinent to evaluation of loan application. This duty is performed about 25% of the time.
23. Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
24. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
25. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required education and experience:
– Two (2) years of experience and knowledge of SBA 7a products & services
– Knowledge of SBA SOP/regulatory requirements and standards applicable to SBA 7a Program Required Proficiencies:
– Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and staff required
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with business customers and all levels within the organization
– Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, goal oriented, and excellent time management skills
– Ability to develop strategies, make cold calls, and perform market analysis to identify referral sources (COI’s); and potential SBA borrower
– Must have the ability to identify and originate and sell SBA loans – Basic knowledge of Prescreening financials (able to complete Prescreen Analysis)
This position requires frequent use of a vehicle during and after business hours to meet with current and potential customers, as well as attend charity or other social events.
Therefore, this position is classified as a safety sensitive position.
