Chief Lending Officer

Job Summary

The Chief Lending Officer oversees all lending areas including commercial, mortgage, and consumer loans. As a member of our Executive team, the CLO is largely responsible for planning, directing, and organizing lending efforts. This individual represents the bank in major loan transactions and will report directly to our President and CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the bank’s lending services and make recommendations to improve performance in areas where needed

 Manage business development strategy and provide solutions to effectively expand our market footprint

 Participate in the development of loan policies and ensure alignment with organizational goals

 Ensure strict adherence to established policies, procedures, legal requirements, and regulations that apply to loan services

 Attend monthly BOD meetings to provide updates on loan portfolios and any updates to regulations affecting loan policy

 Establish goals for loan growth for the Bank as a whole as well as for loan officers individually

 Work in conjunction with our Compliance department to ensure the bank is operating within all applicable laws and regulations

 Manage and review delinquencies, charge-offs, bankruptcies, and foreclosures

 Provide leadership to our lenders through effective communication and objective-setting

 Oversee our loan-officer-trainee program to ensure junior lenders are adequately trained for future success

 Ensure the Bank’s professional reputation is maintained throughout business and lending transactions

 Contribute to ALM discussions concerning loan rate pricing and general ALM strategies

Required Skills/Abilities:

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Strong knowledge of economic trends, loan and treasury products, and business development strategy

 Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software program

 Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

 Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills

 Ability to lead others by example and have the understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to leadership Education/Experience

 Bachelor’s Degree or higher in finance, accounting, or other business-related discipline

 8+ years of lending experience required

 Prior CLO experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

 Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

 Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times

 Must be able to travel to areas in which the bank operates
