Position Summary: The Senior Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for ensuring all required due diligence items are received and reviewed in order to prepare and produce complex commercial loan documentation closing packages. The Specialist engages loan related third party vendors (ie, title companies, legal counsel, collateral monitoring services, etc.) and interacts with all areas of the organization, providing loan closing status updates, recognizing and escalating issues as applicable; and ensuring a complete commercial loan eFile is maintained throughout the closing process supporting the ability to sell the loan to participants and/or investors in the future.   

Essential functions:  

1.                 Demonstrate appropriate level of knowledge and ability to prepare and review new loan documentation for the most complex types of commercial loan closings including SBA, USDA, conventional & real estate construction loans; as well as for participation buy-ins, loan modifications and renewals. 

2.                 Partner with Relationship Officer, Credit Admin and outside vendors to ensure final loan documentation package complies with loan approval; all applicable fees have been collected and distributed accordingly; internal ‘good faith’ accounts are reconciled; and exceptions are approved and follow up items are tracked.

3.                 Perform quality assurance review of all drafted loan closing documents, ensuring documents are thoroughly reviewed and adhere to final loan approval–whether prepared internally by closing team or externally by legal counsel. Ensure outstanding follow up items are defined and tracked prior to boarding to core system -including documentation and financial requirements; as well as setting up the eFile and ensuring required documents are labeled and filed appropriately.

4.                 Collaborate with coworkers, internal departments, and external vendors to achieve the highest level of customer service while ensuring Closing department policies, procedures and guidelines; as well as service levels for quality, accuracy and timeliness, are maintained and any deviation thereof is escalated appropriately.

5.                 Review and assess daily assignments and make recommendations for improvement as needed; serve as subject matter expert for closing department, complete projects as assigned and diligently work to cross train other employees.

Physical Demands:  

 

While performing the duties of your job, you may regularly be required to sit and use a keyboard (including repetitive motions with hands, fingers, arms, etc.). You may also frequently be required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, bend, and kneel.
